(01) — Intro

I design the systems behind calm, usable software for the people who run things.

I'm Sabre, a product designer with a product manager's scope. Since 2022 I've designed the software KidStrong's franchise network runs on, including Lighthouse, the operations platform I design solo, and Beacon UI, the design system behind it.

01

The Lighthouse home screen in Light and Dark modes next to the Candidate Portal in Branded mode, all built from the same Beacon UI components and one Color Semantics collection.

Design system

Beacon UI: one system, three themes

Built Lighthouse’s design system from scratch for responsive web, rebuilt it a year later around one semantic color collection, then added a Branded mode so internal tools and customer-facing portals share the same components.

How I work

(03) — Principles

01

Start with the people who use it

I talk to coaches, managers and HQ before I design, and test with them before we build. Every screen should answer who it's for and what they need to do next.

02

Build the system that keeps it clear

A design system is how clarity survives the next fifty features. Every color, space and size traces back to a named token, so design and code speak the same language.

03

Accessible from the start

Contrast, focus states and keyboard access are part of the design, not polish at the end. I check them in every release.
